Well, Chuck went to a bowling tournament on Sunday night in Girard, PA and I get a call at 11pm saying that my truck died and he’s in Girard at the Country Fair and needs a ride home! I had been sleeping an hour at this point. By the time we got home it was midnight! The motor finally went on it. We were REALLY hoping to get through the summer with it, but I guess not. It had 190,000 miles on it.
Last night the police in Girard called me and said I had to come get it or it will be towed. It has been raining so hard we haven’t been able to. We called someone to go get it since we really didn’t feel like trying to get it up onto the trailer. So, my truck is now in the driveway and we now have 3 dead vehicles in our driveway! *SIGH* I drove that truck for 8 years! It was an anniversary present in 2002, LOL!!
So, last night Chuck and I went to the car auction in Springfield, PA. I really liked the Ford Focus, but I REALLY don’t think all 4 of us would fit into it. I really like this red one and it was standard, I bet it got great gas mileage! It went for $1,400.00 and it was a 2000. There were 3 of them and they sold for about the same. One 2000 with no radio and a little banged up went for $1,700.00! LOL!
I ended up with a mini van, *SIGH*!! Got it for $1,000.00 runs really good and I forget the year but it’s late 90′s I believe. This one is comparable with my SUV as it holds 7 and room for book bags and sports equipment. I still want to get a new more reliable vehicle this year but we want to pay cash for everything we buy so we have to save up!
Tomorrow is my last work day to make eggs at the church. I will have the boys summer camp totally paid for and I may even have some left over. I will give my leftovers to one of Brenda’s kids to go to camp. I am getting TIRED of making eggs, LOL!! I actually sore for a few days after wards. I can barely bowl on Saturdays because my whole right arm hurts from squeezing frosting! What a hoot!!
Last Saturday the boys had music lessons at Edinboro College and since I was out there I thought I would swing by and see my sister, Kitty. I don’t see her very often so since I was out that way thought it would be nice. We put together a puzzle with Emily, while Ryan built and knocked over domino tracks. It was a very nice visit and I am very glad I went over. I can’t get over how quiet her house is compared to mine!

So, CJ came home yesterday and his glasses are broken where you can’t fix them! He HAS to have them for school and of course they are bifocals so you can’t just go get another pair. I took them in this morning and they told me that the frames are $95 and are notorious for breaking and that they were impressed at how good a shape CJ’s were in! LOL!!! They said they would try and turn them into the insurance company but Wellcare only allows 1 pair and 1 office visit a year! ARG!! So, I may have to buy him a new pair but until then he has to have them.
I went to K-Mart right after that to get glue and tape and who do I run into in the parking lot? Chrissy! UGH! She was coming out, I acted like I didn’t see her and walked to the door singing to myself, “I’m Thinner than you are” in that Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah Nah, tune, LOL! So, ANYWAY, got the glue, some tape and a pair of jeans for Joe. The glue worked pretty good, we’ll see if they last all day.
The boys both need new sneakers. Joe is in Track and CJ is in track and tennis! Joe is having problems with shin splints and I am not sure what to do about it. I might have a doctor look at him, maybe it’s his shoes.
I have lunch with the girls today and then at 3pm it’s off to the church for another round of egg making. This will be our 3rd time making them. The first time we made 1,000 then we made 500 and tonight we are making another 500. I am hoping that all my hours and the hours the boys have in will pay for summer camp! YA!!

Wow, can’t believe how warm it got today!! My house got to 80 with the windows open, so it’s now 6:30pm so I shut all the windows and turned the A/C on to cool down the house for the night. Man, I am roasting!! I had to go to K-Mart to buy a pair of jean shorts. The only ones I have here are 16′s and 14′s and they both fall right off me. The smallest pair K-Mart had today was an 8 so I got 2 of those. My jeans are now 6′s but these 8′s should work fine for a while. At least they are not REALLY short! They have an inseam of about 6″, thank goodness! Those shorty shorts are just awful! I mean really, who wants their butt hanging out of their shorts?!?!?
I need a pair of workout shorts too. I got REALLY hot at SNAP today and I had on my thin cotton pair of sweatpants. The summer stuff is coming out but it’s not all the way out yet.
Last night Mr. Lyon came over and gave the boys a music lesson. They haven’t had a lesson in MONTHS! I printed the songs my mom wants for her wedding for them to start working on. They have the jest of it, now they just need to practice, when we can find the time! While Mr. Lyon was here I was roasting a couple of chickens in my roaster on the counter. I moved the roaster and about 50 ants ran all over the place! GROSS!!!!!!! There were everywhere!! They were in our hair, up our legs, on the ceiling, all over the kitchen! EEWWW!!!! So, I cleaned up dinner and bleached my entire kitchen. They are finally gone and I bought ant traps/poison today along with my shorts. I really don’t want to have a huge ant problem.

I guess I am so busy I don’t even realize that it’s been while over a week since I last blogged. CJ is now doing Tennis and Joe is doing track. Of course the practices are at different times so I am running all over the place! Joe stays after school but CJ does not so I have to go get him, then take CJ back to the school at 4:30 and pick up Joe while I am there. Then go back to the school to get CJ at 6pm! It’s crazy! I can’t wait till summer is here, LOL!
After Chuck’s grandma passed away, we all got really sick. That lasted about a week. Driving around in Chuck’s semi got REALLY old so we fixed my back bearings and I now have my truck back, Thank God!!! I can now drive myself places and I can go to quilting and out to lunch with the girls again.
Chuck finally is getting checks from the wood he sold over a month ago so we have some money for a little while. I hope Chuck puts an add in the newspaper so he can pick up some roofing jobs this year. Last year we really didn’t have much roofing work.
Other than that, I really haven’t been doing anything. LOL!
