Picnic & New Purse

Today was our annual picnic at the Pymatuming Lake in Linesville PA.  It was fun and of course I forgot to take any pictures!  The whole town was having a yard sale and since Chuck and I left early we went yard saling!  I actually found a purse!!!!  Okay, I have had my purse for SO long that my boys don’t remember me ever having a different one! LOL!!

My mom got me the purse for my birthday or Christmas or something and I can’t remember when she did.  It’s green and looks like a pair of jeans and it’s green.  I CAN’T seem to part with it.  I have been searching for MONTHS for a new purse even online!  My friends keep asking me, “Did you get a new purse yet?”  LOL!!

So, today I FOUND ONE!!  I got it for .50 cents!  LOL!  I texted my friends and said, “I got a new purse!”  and they text back, “Is it green?”  You know what?  I didn’t even realize that I got ANOTHER green purse!   LOL!!  But, it’s dark green and my other one was light green.

Thursday Happenings

Well, got CJ from school yesterday at 9:30 for his therapy session and half way through she came out and got me, that can’t be good I thought.  I was right!  He has started cutting his arm up with a razor and so he was put back into the hospital.  I drove him down this time instead of an ambulance.  Chuck is very angry and upset because he wants answers and CJ just isn’t talking and Chuck just isn’t understanding all of this and feels very helpless.  I wish CJ would just start talking about what is wrong.  If he would, he’d see things would look a lot different.

Not sure how long he’ll be in this time, last time was 8 days, might be the same.  He’s missing the 8th grade trip to Washington DC this weekend.  It’s to late to get our money back now *SIGH*.  I do hope we get over this hump soon as I am not sure how much we can take of this.  He doesn’t seem to be getting any better!

Had to make sure all the laundry was done today as Joe needs clean clothes for his trip.  I still have to run out and get last minute stuff at the store and all I want to do is go to sleep!  We have a picnic on Saturday that I have to make stuff for and a birthday party for one of the girls at quilting, it’s her 60th.  So, busy weekend!

Today at lunch we celebrated Barb’s and Sue’s birthdays.  Barb was last week but she was busy and couldn’t come to lunch.  Barb is 62 and Sue is 54.  I had the taco salad and it looked so good today that I took a picture of it!

Sorry!

Wow, I had no idea that it’s been almost 2 weeks since I have updated my blog! I guess I have been very busy. I am working on an e-book and it’s almost done. I want to see if I can sell it and make some money. That has been taking up a huge part of my time.

CJ has been going to therapy and his psychiatrist once a week. He’s put him on an anti-depressant so with kids you have to be VERY careful so he sees him once a week. The school called on the 11th to come get him because he was in a really bad state, that is why he’s on the med’s now. I hope by this time next year he’s off both of them. On the 11th CJ and Joe were both home. Joe had been sick the entire night so I kept him home. I missed quilting that day because I had to get CJ. I hate missing quilting!

The boys had there 8th grade farewell, kind of like a prom. They both had a good time and you know what? I never took a single picture. Never even dawned on me to take one! They both dressed up really nice but CJ was the only boy there in a suit jacket. I have this picture that someone gave CJ and I scanned it.

There was an awards night at the school this past Monday and a teacher pulled me aside to tell me how proud he was of CJ. It seems there was this boy at the dance that came in jeans, sneakers and a hoody and he was off by himself for quite a while. He’s not popular and I believe that he doesn’t even own any nice clothes. CJ, by himself, went over to the boy and started talking to him and the boy said he didn’t have any friends and CJ said, “I’ll be your friend” and the boy started crying. (aahhh!)

So, CJ then went to all his friends (I guess CJ is sort of popular) and told them to go over and talk to this boy even if it’s just for 2 minutes. His friends balked at the idea, CJ MADE them and he told them, “And do it with a smile on your face!” LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This teacher was VERY impressed that CJ would do this and that boy had a good time and ended up talking to a bunch of kids. CJ NEVER told me any of this until the ride home from the awards after I mentioned it because the teacher did. To CJ, it was just another day at a dance, LOL!

Today I have a practicum to do so I will be on the phone for 5 hours! *SIGH* I HATE these things!! That is probably why I have only done 1. I need to do 6 to graduate. I was supposed to do one on the 7th but I just didn’t feel like it and I had to run and get the boys and stuff so didn’t go. It’s done over the phone and you have to coach 2 people and 2 people coach you each 30 minutes so you get an hour of coaching in. It’s like practice and you have to do it 6 times.

Then, to graduate for real, you have to record 2 30 minute sessions and have all the criteria in them needed and submit them and if they pass, you pass. They put it like this; it’s like your driving test. You have to drive a certain way they want you to for the license but after you have your license you drive however you want. LOL! So, practicums are “driving school” of coaching. Man, I do love to drag stuff out when I don’t want to do something! I could have graduated back in 2007 LOL!

My phone battery doesn’t even last for 1 1/2 hours, I have no idea how I am going to make it for 5. I really need to get one of those blue tooth thingers for my cell phone. I can have my cell in my bedroom window and I get a signal but I can’t talk on it up to my ear huddled in the window for that long but if I had blue tooth I think I could lay on my bed and have the phone in the window. Maybe I should run down to K-Mart and get one! LOL!

This morning I let the dog out at 6:15 and went and lay back down and 30 minutes later I woke up and it was pouring down rain! YIKES!! Sandy was soaking wet wanting back in the house. Yuck, a wet dog! STINKY!!

Happy Mother’s Day!

CJ’s Birthday

Today, CJ turned 15!  I can’t believe he’s getting so old!  Joe spent the night at Colin’s house so he wasn’t home.  We took CJ to Erie and we saw Iron Man 2 and it was REALLY good!  We got subs before the movie and Chuck and CJ played video games for a while.  After the movie we took CJ to GameStop and he got some new video games for his birthday.

We got home around 3pm and just chilled out until about 5:15 and then we took off into town.  CJ was going to have a bowling party and we had our bowling banquet.  But, when we got into town all the electricity was out.  I guess they had a really bad wind storm while we were in Erie.  The bowling party was to start at 6:30pm and the lights were still out at 6:20 so I told CJ that we would have to cancel his party since we were sitting in a dark bowling alley.  We thought out bowling banquet would be canceled too!  BUT, the light came on JUST in time!! YES!!!  So, party back on and we got our banquet.

The kids had a good time and a nice turn out.  We took first place and a ton of trophies!

My Hips

I went to the doctor this morning right after I dropped the boys off at school.  I met a woman from church in the waiting room so it was nice to have someone to talk to while we waited.  She was there for the doctor to read her CAT scan of her hip.  She was in an auto accident in Jan. of this year.

So, I go in and he said that the MRI of my hips look good and what I have is arthritis in my SI joints.  I had no clue what those where and he said they are in the lower back.  I’m like, okay?, lower back but my hips hurt so bad?  I asked where and he gently pressed where on my right side and I screamed out in pain and grabbed his arm and started crying.  WOW, that HURT!!!  I never knew that was even there!

So, he wants to see if a steroid shot helps so he gave it to me in my right side so we can compare.  That hurt too!!  So, I left all upset and had to do the grocery shopping.  I spent an hour filling up my cart and was in such pain by the time I was done.  I HATE shopping and didn’t want to, but we have no food at home and I am not in Ashtabula often to go to Walmart so I had to go.  They got someone to help me out, since I had 2 carts and it was POURING out and he helped me put them all in the van.  When I got home, I had to take them all in and put them away.

Took 30 minutes but it’s all done and put away and I’m on the couch resting.  I have no idea if massage therapy will help or do anything but I have to wait till I’m not in so much pain.  So, it has nothing to do with losing all the weight but I wonder if it’s because of having 2 kids?  The boys were VERY heavy and I remember my hips hurt SO BAD with Joe.

I see the doctor again in a month to see how I am doing and where to go from here.  As for Carolyn, she got two shots in her hip and she has to do physical therapy and she should be find and doesn’t need surgery, which is what she didn’t want so she was happy.

Saturday

Chuck is getting around really well now. He feels so much better than he did before. I am so glad I made the appointment with this doctor. It took me 3 weeks to do it, I now wish I did it right away! He’s walking around and doing all kinds of stuff, heck since his surgery he’s been busier than me!

I went for my MRI yesterday. Now that was an experience! I am in this tube that is only 6″ from my face, very disturbing! I had no idea they were so loud either. They gave me headphones and the country music they have must be current stuff because I was in there an hour and knew only 3 songs, LOL!

I had my hands on top of my chest and half way through they feel asleep and by the time I was done my arms where asleep to my elbows. Man that hurt, but I couldn’t move. I was glad when it was over. I got the CD from her and left. I can’t remember when I see the doctor again, could be Monday, I will have to check in the notebook I wrote it down in.

I am at a Reverse Raffle that the Conneaut Mat club is hosting. We are raising money for the wrestling team. This is the first one I have ever been to. We left the boys at his parents cuz we could be here till 11 or so. We didn’t buy any tickets so unless we get them cheap we won’t be winning anything. At least we can eat all the food we want!! LOL!!
