Not a Good Day for the Beach!

CJ wanted to see his friends, he hasn’t since school let out so after church, I did some laundry, made lunch, did the dishes and we headed down for the beach.  He meet up with 2 girls and walked around, Joe and Chuck played tennis and I went down to walk the beach looking for sea glass.

Not 30 minutes later, thunder started to roll.  I thought, no big deal, it’s not raining and the dark clouds are far away.  Well, 15 minutes later it was POURING down rain, people were FLYING off the beach trying to take cover.  As soon as we got under the pavilion lightening struck right into the water!!!!  YIKES!! We all gasped in shock.

Well, we got ice cream while we waited out the 10 minute storm and then drove home.  On the way, we saw trees down and debris all over the roads.  It was bad!  Looked like it might have been a tornado, but we have no idea.  It really wasn’t a good day for the beach!

Remember when I said we listened to the comedy channel all the way to NC and all the way home?  Well, I really LOVED this woman!!  :)

Been a While

I really haven’t been posting much and I keep telling myself that I am going to post more often but it just never works out that way!  The wedding was a good time though the drive was long.  We listened to the comedy channel the entire way there and the entire way back!  That is a lot of comedy!  But, hey, it was a good time.

It was VERY hot and humid the entire time we were down there, thank God my mom FINALLY has central air or I would have died!  We left Wed. night and got home Monday night.

Tuesday I was busy cleaning, doing laundry and catching up on stuff.  Wed. while I was shopping at Wal-Mart Joe calls me and says that the power just went out at home.  I had him check the box and all was fine there.  I had a sinking feeling and then CJ called me back and said he found the shut-off notice in the door.  Great!  We got out power shut off and we have TONS of food we can’t lose.

I hated doing it, but I had to borrow the money to get it back on.  We haven’t been able to pay in a long time but Chuck is JUST getting back to work, thank God!  So, we got the power back on at 1pm on Thursday.  I’m glad it got cold over night so we all slept okay.  After the power came back on I cleaned the whole house again and did up the dishes and more clothes.  While the power was out CJ and Joe actually played board games together!  Amazing!

Thursday night we started a youth/adult bowling league in Girard.  I threw my lower back out something good so Friday I went and got it fixed and spent the entire rest of the day in bed.  I had my computer, TV, iPod, Book, and phone so I was set!  I had a 4 hour call so that kept me busy.  I have 3 more of those left to go and I will be able to graduate.  I hope to have those done by the end of August.

Today, my right hip hurts SO bad I cannot stand up so I spent another day in bed and it’s starting to get BORING!!  I hope tomorrow I will feel better.  At least no one is home today.  The boys are with Chuck doing outside stuff and getting work done.  We are hauling more logs today too so that means more money coming in.  Chuck has been hauling wood for people and making some good money doing so.  He has loads almost ever day!

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow for Father’s Day.  Maybe dinner and a movie and just relax.

Yes, I am a Spaz!

So, if you were wondering if I was a spaz or not this should sum it up!  My sister Becky took this photo on June 12, 2010 at my mom’s wedding.  I was looking at her and waving at her while she took my picture and this was the result, GOOD LORD!!!

Last Day of School

So, today was the last day of school, finally!  I’m so glad this year is done but I am sure the next one is going to start before you know it.  I can’t believe I have high schoolers now!! WOW!

We went and picked up CJ on Tuesday night.  Chuck and I decided to NOT have him go back to school so he did the rest of his work at home and we let him take it in this morning and go to the assembly where they all signed year books.  CJ is doing better and I hope it stays that way.  They changed his med’s and he seems to be doing much better with this one than the last one.

They had a party down by the lake where about 80 kids showed up for.  They had an okay time, sounds like they would have had more fun staying at home playing video games.  I’m just glad it’s all over and I don’t have to run them anywhere for a while.

Next week, we are off to NC for my moms wedding.  We are having our mechanic look at the van and see if she’ll make it there and back without any problems.  CJ is VERY stressed about playing the music since he hasn’t really had much practice since he’s been gone.  I said if he can play the going down and coming back songs he’ll be fine and Joe can entertain the rest of the time.  He gets so stressed out!  He doesn’t want Nana to be upset with his playing.  He’s like me and everything has to be perfect or why bother trying!  *SIGH*
