Day at the Beach

Today, CJ’s friend Jesse from youth camp came over and we went to the beach. Joe went over the Bridget’s house to hang out with Dave and Brandy. I looked for Sea Glass for 3 hours! I am exhausted, LOL!! I came home smelling like dead fish and sea weed!

Jesse got car sick on the way home and ended up throwing up when we got home and I felt bad! Her grandma picked her up at 7pm. She lives an hour away! Crazy! But, she had a good time and I’m sure she will call CJ at 9pm like every other night! :)

I got a new cell phone the other day. The charging port went in the other one, so I had to get a new one, thank goodness for insurance! Now, I have to put all my contacts back in and my calendar. I missed two calls today because my phone didn’t tell me I had them! LOL! I’m a slave to my phone!

I finally got the pastors sermons up on iTunes! I finally figured out how to do that and now you can sign up for his podcasts for free through iTunes. Just download iTunes (free) to your computer and sign-up for his podcast! Pastor Carson Robson’s Podcast

I Don’t Get It?

I just don’t get it??? I have friends that just LOVE the twilight movies and books and my sisters love them and my boys love them but the movies are SO boring!!! I had to sit through yet ANOTHER one of these movies last night and CJ poked me three times to pay attention! LOL!! All they are is one really long and drawn out chick flick! UGH! Chuck and CJ love chick flicks, I however DON’T!! How can everyone go ga-ga over these movies? Maybe the books are better but I don’t want to read a really long and drawn out chick book either! LOL!!

Before the boring movie, we went and got Joe a pair of football cleats, since the pair from last year, which are size 12′s don’t fit him this year. Joe is now a size 13 and they actually came in wide, so they fit him nice. He is the only one at practice that didn’t have cleats and he’s tired of being stepped on by other cleats in just tennis shoes.

We then went to the mall to buy CJ a pair of skinny jeans. Why he wants skinny jeans is beyond me, but he’s been begging for a pair ALL summer long! Now, he says he needs tight shirts because bagging shirts don’t go with skinny jeans, LOL!!!! We told him he would have to wait.

Chuck is pulling logs out of our woods and hopes to have a couple loads this week to go out so we can start paying people back. Lets hope he can get 2 loads out. The guy with the tractor that said he would help him has only showed up for 4 hours on one day and hasn’t been back since. Once the skidder is done he won’t need him but it would be nice of him to come back and at least get a load out so we can get some money in.

Yesterday I had another coaching practicum and there were only 3 of us so it only took 3 hours instead of 5. I have 2 more to go and I am DONE with the coaching school. This one didn’t go very well, as I was more chatty then coach’y, LOL! I need to do less statements and more open ended questions. Hey, at least I learn something each time I do one of these, even though I really hate them, LOL! My next one is August 13 and the last one is Sept. 11.

I was talking to Joe last night about doing voice over’s. Just to do simple voice overs for other peoples podcasts, you can make a dollar a second! I told him he may be good at it and we should look into it, so we are going to do that. Don’t know if it will pan out, but we’ll learn something!

Summer Happenings

Man, sorry, it’s been a while again. I should make myself blog on a certain day every week so I make sure to update at least once a week!

Okay, I was flat on my back all last week. I did get up to take the boys to football and back and do laundry and make dinner and such but I was in a LOT of pain!! By Friday I called the doctor and he told me to stretch and walk around then lay on ice for 20 minutes and then do it again all day. I did and on Saturday I felt MUCH better! So, I guess after about 3 or so days, you’re okay to get up and move around even though it hurts really bad.

Sunday Chuck and I went food shopping and I ran projection at church so I wasn’t too bad, though still in pain but I could move around better.

Monday I sat on the couch for a while and then Chuck called and we had to run to Youngstown to take care of the $15 for his license and get trailer plates. We got back around 5pm and I came home and made pizza, then did the dishes and then I sat my butt down on the couch till bedtime.

Tuesday, I took the boys to football at 9am and picked them up at 12:30pm, they ate lunch and then CJ and I went down to the lake. He hung out with his friends and I sat on the beach looking for sea glass. We left at 5pm so I had time to make dinner. Then I cleaned up and sat my butt on the couch till bedtime.

Can you tell I just love to sit on the couch! LOL! I have a laptop and I have a certain spot I sit in and I watch TV or work on the computer and Sandy sleeps or sits next to me on her special feather pillow, LOL!

Wednesday, took boys to football at 9am and picked them up at 12:30pm. Then we went over to Linda’s (a friend of mine from church) and Joe got his hair cut. It was getting shaggy and he didn’t like all that hair in his helmet. It looks good now! Linda is going to pick up a perm for me and I am going to straiten CJ’s hair. He hates how curly it is and Linda said I could do it myself for $5 instead of paying her $25. Then we just hung out at home the rest of the day.

Yesterday, boys had practice from 9-12:30. When I picked them up I took them over to grandma’s house so I could go to lunch with the girls. Had a good time and picked the boys back up at 2pm and we went home. Chilled for a few hours and then off to bowling. I actually did pretty good! I thought my back would bother me but it didn’t. I bowled a 197, 175, 120. As you can see, I got really tired as time went by! LOL! I went straight to bed when we got home, watch Big Brother and went to sleep by 10:30pm.

Today, I have no plans and I just want to stay home all day. I know CJ is going to rock and bowl tonight from 9-11pm. Joe will probably go too, so I have to run them there and back. The boys are going to help Chuck with some stuff outside.

Because of the accident, we are again cutting and selling the tress off our land to try and pay everyone back that we took loans from and to get the truck fixed. He is trying to haul some loads with the dump truck but he can’t haul as much as with the big white truck. He is getting the big log skidder fixed and it’s so nice these people are fixing these and letting us make payments! But, once it’s done, Chuck will be able to get a LOT of logs out of the woods and start bringing in some good money besides just hauling loads for other people. Should be done next week sometime. Then they will start on the big truck.

Well, that’s about it really. We have about a month and then school starts back up and we will be more into a routine but we will also be VERY busy until Christmas break, LOL!

I Can’t Believe It!

Last night, while I was SLEEPING I threw my back out BAD! I was laying on my back and I must have stretched and arched my back and BAM I woke up in PAIN! I knew it as soon as I woke up that this was a bad one. My first thought was, I am not even safe while I am sleeping! :(

I rolled to my side and was okay to sleep again. I got up at 8am this morning and it took me 30 minutes to make my bed and get dressed all while crying. I am now stuck in bed on my side for the day. I had to cancel CJ’s therapy appointment which was at 11am. I can’t get into the chiropractor until 3:45 today. It’s weird to try and type while laying on your side.

Standing up causes great pain. The pressure just is intense and my hips want to explode! I wish I didn’t have such a hard time with my back all the time. I have an appointment I HAVE to go to tomorrow afternoon so I hope I can move by then.

Chuck is doing better, he’s not as sore. The Amish guy he was hauling for lent him $1,000 and he is trying to find another $1,000. The guy holding his stuff is waving the lot fees so that helps and he let Chuck pay to get the truck out and Chuck found a guy to fix it and let him make payments so that is good. We might only end up being down a week and that isn’t bad! Chuck is going to try and haul in some lumber of his own with the trailer and dump truck so we can get some money in.

Yes, My Life is Nothing But Drama!

Woke up, it’s just another day right? WRONG! Chuck got up at 7am to haul a load of lumber from the Amish guy down the road into town. I got up at 8am and got the boys up and got them something to eat and ready for football practice. They practice from 9-11 Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. We were JUST getting ready to leave when the phone rang and it was Chuck. He has just been in an accident.

I HATE these calls!!! Your heart sinks to your stomach and pounds away and you can’t think straight. He was hauling a trailer along with his truck, the load is NOT heavy, just wooden boxes. The trailer had come unhitched and started passing him on the road. Somehow the trailer smacked the truck which made the gas tank go into his tire which made him lose control of the truck and land in the guard rail. Thank God no one was hurt!!!!

He was arrested on the scene because he has an outstanding warrant for an unpaid fine he didn’t know about. So, they put him in the back of the cruzier and took him up town. I got the $185 out of the bank and paid to get him out, LOL! After that, I took him up to the hospital to have him checked out. He hurt is left leg which is the one that he just broke and had surgery on this past spring. He hurt his right arm by getting it stuck in the steering wheel. His other arm is badly bruised and his stomach has a large bruise from the steering wheel. But, the doctor said he’s okay just will hurt for a while.

He went with Clinton, my BIL, and took his dump truck and did stuff around town that needed done. I went to the beach with a friend from lower Ohio from 2-6pm. I am VERY sun burnt and tired! I picked Chuck up at Bridget’s house since he can’t drive a stick shift because of his leg. He drove my van home.

He went to the place that towed his truck and trailer and the bill is $1,500!!!! GOOD LORD!!! And $60 a day until we can get them out! :( THIS SUCKS!!

Chuck is VERY stressed and depressed. This is the ONLY way we are making money right now, with this truck hauling loads! He got 4 tickets too. The license plate on the truck, it was gone and they couldn’t find it so they gave him a ticket for no plates, no trailer plates, no CDL (he doesn’t need one), failure to secure load. He will probably get 2 of those thrown out. He goes next week to court.

The Movie Precious

Okay, I see this movie won awards and that “people” liked this movie so I thought I would read the book before seeing the movie since the book is always better than the movie.

I am HORRIFIED!!!! Now I am only on page 41 out of 181 but so far I want to throw up, cry out huge sobs, scream and throw the book across the room. But, it’s on my electronic reader so I will NOT throw it across the room.

I have no idea who would think this would make a good movie. There is NO WAY I would want to see what I am reading on the big screen. I am now stuck with the images I have for life let alone see them in full color! I am shaken to my core just reading this book.

I don’t read fiction, in fact I can’t remember the last time I did. I LOVE reading about people’s lives. So far this summer I have read “Loose Girl” by Kerry Cohen,

“Color Me Butterfly” by L.Y. Marlow,

and now “Push” by Sapphire , which is what the movie “Precious” is based on.

Ever since I was 19 I have been reading the magazine “True Story”,

I just LOVE people’s stories and I just can’t get enough. In fact, my favorite Podcast is “The Moth”

and wouldn’t you know, that is just where real people get up on stage and tell their story! LOL!! In fact, yesterday I found out that “The Moth” is coming to Pittsburgh on August 26th so Chuck and I are going to go! YEAH!! We are both excited!
