Well, we are having a blizzard today. On the news last night there were warnings and buzzers and beeps going on but at 11pm there was nothing so I thought nothing of it. At 5:30am I got a text saying school was closed, I looked outside and couldn’t see across the street! I guess we are supposed to get 10″ of snow today. So, I went back to bed till about 7:30.
Joe got sick this week and missed Wed. He’s feeling better now and he went to his first baseball practice yesterday after school. Said he really liked it. Yesterday, after I had lunch with the girls I stopped at the school and had the nurse take his blood pressure again since he hasn’t used his inhaler since Saturday. It was 128/82 so it’s better than it was before! The doctor has been out of town and won’t be back in till Monday.
Last week, Ford called and my van was ready to pick up. It was a sad day for all of us! Ford said our shocks were so bad we shouldn’t even be driving it. Our mechanic said he’d put them in for us so we got that fixed and we no longer bounce down the road like a basketball! The tires are bad so it doesn’t do very well in the snow but we don’t have $400 for new ones. I’m hoping these will last till October and I’ll get new tires before the snow flies again.
I have been writing every day all day long when I can. Some days I don’t get my quota done but I keep plugging away. It sucks that if I don’t write I don’t make any money, LOL!!

*SIGH* Is the school year over yet? I keep telling myself, only 3 more years to go!!
Joe had a VERY bad day at school yesterday and it all started in first period. He did the wrong worksheet that was due in Science that was worth 20 points and he already has some zeros in that class so he “borrowed” Dylan’s paper to quickly do it and was caught and he AND Dylan got zero’s on their papers and BOTH got detention. Joe was DEVASTATED!! He felt horrible for getting his best friend in trouble and a zero on a paper he actually did the work for! They served their detention yesterday after school and Joe talked to his mother and apologized for what happened. It’s not that he doesn’t know the work, he does but still, it’s still cheating!
He knows this and knows it was the wrong choice and what he should of done was tell the teacher the truth, that the night before he did the WRONG worksheet and could he finish this one before the end of the day for at least half credit. *SIGH*
Joe is having a VERY hard time remembering things even if he writes them down a few times! He is almost in tears saying that his bad memory is causing him problems in all areas of his life and he’s angry and depressed. This isn’t knew, he has cried (literally) about this before many times. He asked if there was any pills he could take to help improve his memory. I wish there was a class around here on note taking/organizing for kids that have issues like this. There was a paper I was supposed to sign for 20 points on Monday and he wrote it down but by the time he gets home he forgets and he finally remembered and I signed it last night but he’ll only get 5 points for it now and of course this is for Science! On Monday he forgot about something he was supposed to do for English and got a zero! He got SO mad yesterday that he did EVERYTHING for English and all his classes even if it wasn’t due for over a week.
It’s not that he comes home and just wants to play video games. He gets home at 6pm, takes a shower, eats and falls asleep. He’s exhausted from wrestling, which this year he hates because they make him wrestle heavy weight which is 285 pounds and he’s only 200! So, he’s getting beat up on and he just wants to be done. There is only a week left and then I think he needs some time off to de-stress. He also has high blood pressure which he has NEVER had before!!! The school nurse checked him twice and one day it was 146/50 and then again another day it was 150/60. I think it’s the stress he’s feeling but I have to call the doctor anyway and let them know.
So, I am upset because I so badly want to help him but I just don’t know how!
Oh and if you got this far, the doctor’s office called me yesterday and all my tests came back fine so maybe it is acid reflux as I have heard from others that this can cause your voice to do this. I am feeling better today and can talk a bit better too.

Sorry, didn’t even realize it’s been this long since I have posted anything. I haven’t been feeling well and it’s been over 2 weeks. My voice is horrible and I’m tired all the time so I finally went to the doctor yesterday. Actually, it was the first time in over 2 weeks that I went to SNAP and then I went to quilting. My friend Barb made me go. Doctor wondered why I was there since I wasn’t coughing and my nose wasn’t stuffed up. But, he did blood work, an EKG and I had a chest x-ray. He thinks I just have acid reflux and gave me heartburn medication! LOL!! So, I have no idea why I can’t talk and why I am so tired all the time. Maybe I just need more sleep? I go to sleep around 10pm and I get up at 6am so you would think I was sleeping enough.
I have been spending my days writing articles. I am getting burnt out on them but I need to keep going. I don’t make much but it keeps the phones on and the electric barely on. I start writing as soon as I get home and I don’t stop all day long. I only stop when I have to go someplace and even then a lot of times I take my computer with me.
Joe is happy to miss wrestling practice today since he has an orthodontist appointment today. His back hurts really bad from the match this weekend so he’s glad not to go today. He needs to see the chiropractor again but it’s $15 every time he goes and he was just there. He’s almost done with wrestling and I’d like to wait till he was done before taking him again. He wants to do baseball next so he’s going to try out for that.
CJ just has science left to finish up and he’s done for this 9 weeks. I really don’t think he is learning that much with their computer school. I might just have to add to it myself, though the math is good not to sure about the rest of it though. I should have him watch the History channel every day to be learning something, LOL! I just wish he liked to read, but he hates it and isn’t that good at it though I have been trying for years to get him to read. Joe likes to read and does it well, oh well!
