This video shows the winner of ” Ukraine ’s Got Talent”,  Kseniya Simonova, 24,  drawing a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II.  Her talent, which admittedly is a strange one, is mesmeric to watch. The images, projected onto a large screen, moved many in the audience to tears and she won the top prize of about $130,000.00. The Great Patriotic War, as it is called in Ukraine , resulted in one in four of the population being killed with eight to 11 million deaths out of a population of 42 million.

Umm, wonder if I should coach people the way he does??? LOL!!!

Well, there is no school today as it’s snowing and blowing and won’t be stopping till late tonight.  I was going to keep them home anyway.

Yesterday, after we dropped the boys off at school we had to head into Ashtabula and get some stuff done.  We got home at noon and we were both exhausted!  The boys had some tutoring after school today so we called and had my in-laws pick them up and bring them home.  It sucks to be driving around in Chuck’s big semi all the time.

Oh, not sure I said but my truck is down (of course).  My rear bearings on the passenger side go out every 16 to 18 months.  We think it was in an accident before we bought it but no one ever told us.  So, we have to replace it then I can drive it again.  So, we are in Chuck’s semi 2 seater diesel truck till then.  Nothing like dropping the kids off at school in that thing!  LOL!

So, his parents picked them up and brought them home and stayed for dinner.  Joe came home VERY sick.  He went right to bed and stayed there and is STILL in bed at 10am.  CJ has a lot of homework as does Joe because they missed Wed. for the funeral.  So, I was going to keep them home anyway to have the weekend to get everything done so this snow storm is a blessing!  I hope Joe starts feeling better, I think it’s just a bad cold.  CJ also can’t breathe too well this morning.

So, we are in till Monday.  The snow is still coming down and it’s blowing like crazy.  The snow is drifting really bad and it will be hard to get anywhere.

Chuck’s grandma (Gram) had a massive stroke and a heart attack on Wed. night.  He got a call a little after midnight and went to the hospital.  She was unresponsive and it didn’t look good.  She held on till Sunday morning.  So, viewing is tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9 in Linesville, PA.  Going to be a long day.  Kids will stay home, but on Wed. we are keeping them from school as there is another viewing from 9am to 11am at the church and then the funeral service right after.  She is being buried in Linesville PA.  Another long day.

Last Friday at our church was egg making day.  We made 1,017 eggs!  We sell them for $5 and we have peanut butter, maple walnut and coconut.  I was there from 9am till 7:30pm.  I was wiped out!

I took this cute test and I am a SHEEP!  LOL!!!  SO FUNNY!  But a lot of it is very true and some I wish wasn’t.

The Animal in You

Sheep

The affable and meek nature of the sheep personality evokes some derision from carnivorous, but a grudging respect from its fellow herbivores. Sheep have no real defense mechanisms other than the safety of numbers, so they huddle in the suburbs with like-minded individuals, pooling resources and raising families. They are religious creatures, seeking comfort in the collective reassurance of the church where they are quite content to be labeled as flock. When confronted by obstacles, they hate to make decisions – deferring instead to their partners or their religious leaders. While this may help the sheep maintain a superficial sense of well being, it leads to the loss of identity that typifies the sheep persona.

Their reputation for lack of vision and ambition is well deserved. Largely disinterested in politics, viewing it as time taken from work, sheep respect the law and never question authority. This leaves them susceptible to the whims of the canine personalities, who with their dominance and leadership are able to change the direction of an entire herd. Like most things in life though, sheep turn this into an advantage by utilizing the protection and guidance provided by these stronger animals.

Physically, sheep are nondescript and uninspiring. Dressing conservatively (in wool coats), they draw as little attention to themselves as possible. Lacking the bulk and strength of larger animal personalities, they are vulnerable to predatory behavior. As a defense mechanism they utilize their strong herding instinct. Safety in numbers and the pooling of resources more than make up for the sheep’s vulnerability, and they flourish accordingly.

A prime factor in their success is their ability to concentrate on resource acquisition and money-making. Preferring to let other animals perform the time-consuming jobs of philosophizing and defending the community, they quietly go about building their family.

Sheep are tireless and valued workers with the ability to spend hours on monotonous tasks. Skilled at taking direction, their ability to concentrate makes them outstanding accountants, research assistants or secretaries. Theyare rarely found in leadership roles and would even turn down a promotion if it were to remove them from the safety of the herd.

The boys don’t have school today or Monday.  I dropped them off at 8am at the Church for Winterfest and they won’t be back till Sunday night.  I hope they have a good time, it’s with the youth group and they are going up to Rochester, NY a 3 hour drive but they are taking a Coach Bus.  Not sure if Chuck and I are going to do much as funds are VERY tight till we get paid which will be a little over a week.

On Monday when I was at SNAP there was a story on the “Today” show about “The Choking Game” and the week before I watched an Intervention Epsiode about Huffing and I decided that I would talk to the boys principal about having some speakers come in to speak with the kids about these issues (which is FREE) because it IS happening in their school.  She basically told me that there was no time in the schedule to hold an assembly no matter how good the cause! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!!

I even told her it was happening on school grounds!!!!!!!  HELLO!!!!!!!!!  A couple months ago Joe told me a story, at the time I didn’t think too much about it, why? I have no clue but now it bothers me!  Him and maybe 4 other boys in the locker room decided to play the choking game.  One knew how and said hey this is so cool who wants to try it?  Joe didn’t want to, Thank God!!  The boy who did try it his legs buckled out from under him and his eyes rolled back into his head and he was twitching horribly!  The boys got VERY scared and started slapping him to wake him up.  They were all horrified and swore to NEVER do that again.  Joe told me about this when it happened and I shared with him the time I played this game.

Yup, I played it too when I was about his age.  I was at a sleepover and the girl having the party said about the same thing, hey this is so cool do you want to try it?  We all did it over and over that night.  I have NO CLUE where the parents were at this party!  These were all girls from church too, go figure.

They have youtube videos to show kids how to play it!  I am NOT going to stop until someone gets into that school to talk about these issues with the kids.  If she won’t listen to me, then I will go to the superintendent and if  he doesn’t listen to me then I will go before the board of education.  Kids are dying and no one seems to care because they think it can’t happen here.  I always thought school shootings would never happen in my school either, WRONG!  It did and a teacher died!

This was one of the story’s on the Intervention Episode:  Jeff Williams is a police office in the Cleveland, Ohio, area. On March 2, 2005, Kyle Williams, age 14, was found dead in his bed by his mother, Kathy. Kyle died from asphyxiation resulting from inhaling Dust Off, a popular brand of compressed air used in cleaning electronic components.   (Story Here)  If you want to watch the episode Click Here.

Okay, enough of my rant, LOL!

Okay, this is yet another sucky week!  *SIGH*  On Saturday night it got VERY cold and come Sunday morning we had NO WATER!!  yup, our water froze AGAIN!!  This SUCKS!!!!!  Chuck go VERY sick and couldn’t do anything about the water till Tuesday.  Everyone needed a shower badly!  I melted snow and washed Joe’s hair, CJ didn’t want to do that.  I melted snow to wash the dishes and let me tell you snow is DIRTY!!!! YUCK!!!!!  GROSS!!!!!  I flushed the toilet with the water that collects in the mudroom from the leaky ceiling.  But, I could only flush once a day!  GROSS!!  Of course Chuck had diarrhea REALLY bad so double GROSS!!!!  I start my period on Sunday and have NO WATER!!  ARG!!!!!!!

So, Tuesday we get the water going around 2pm to find out that the sewer line is blocked/froze and EVERYTHING backed up into the tub!!!!  We were all so excited about getting showers and now this!  ARG!!!!   SO, I take a rag, set the plug in the tub and use a rag and bucket and ring out the rag into the bucket and do that again and again till the tub is empty.  I then bleach the heck out of it and scrub it up.  I keep it plugged up and Chuck and I grabbed a shower and just let it fill up but at least we were clean!

This morning the tub did drain but it took a LONG time!  I cleaned it and plugged it back up and at 6am Joe got a shower and then at 6:30am CJ got one though he HATED to stand in Joe’s dirty water, *SIGH*!  They went to school clean and smelling nice.  I can’t say that much about my house, it smells like a giant outhouse!!!!  I got a snake from Brenda and we have to get under the trailer and unscrew the lid and nasty water exploded all over Chuck, EEEWWW!!!  We put the snake down and the jam is REALLY bad, we have no clue what it is.  We tried and tried to push it out.  We thought maybe it’s frozen so we poured 2 large stock pots of boiling water down and gave it 30 minutes and I went out and unscrewed the thing, got blasted with GROSS water and tried again, NOTHING!  It still won’t budge!  ARG!!!!  So, right now I have water boiling on the stove again and I will keep trying till we get it.  We have no money to have someone come and chew it out.

I am so frustrated and depressed.  My stomach hurts all the time and I just feel like crying!  Chuck and the boys are leaving soon for wrestling practice.  The school is done but the little guys go for another 2 months.  Chuck makes them go.  It’s for kids till they are in 6th grade.  But there are tournaments on the weekends so Chuck has them going here to practice.  The tournaments are on Saturdays and they have to miss bowling for them and they HATE that!  *SIGH*  CJ SO doesn’t want to do it and this causes more stress!  It wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t such a conflict avoider and the self designated peace maker!  But, I need the quiet time as they leave at 5 and get back at 8.

CJ’s computer was acting up and he spazzed when I told him I would reformat it, he said he had too much stuff he wanted to save.  So, today while he was at school, I did it anyway and saved all his stuff, or at least I THOUGHT I did.  I guess I accidentally saved a shortcut folder and not the actual folder so EVERYTHING in his folder is gone.  He threw himself on his bed crying!!!  Dear Lord!!  I guess he had his conversations saved that he and his ex-girlfriend had on Instant Messenger.  I told him I didn’t do it on purpose and I thought I saved everything.  I will NEVER make that mistake again but I HATE learning them this way.  I had no idea he was reading those, in a way I’m glad they are gone.  He HAS to get over her and reading those isn’t helping!  So, let’s add some MORE stress!

A friend of mine wrote me today to tell me she was off to the vet to have her oldest and dearest cat put down! :(   She’s had him for 10 years!   They think he got into poison but not sure.  She had him at the vet but I guess there was no saving him.  She can’t have kids so her cats are her children so this is VERY hard on her and it just breaks my heart!  I remember how hard it was to have a chinchilla put down and to watch Saphira die, just horrible!  So, my tummy didn’t like that either.

SUCKS!!!!!!
