So Busy

Oh my, I have been so busy that I realized that I never even called my mom for Christmas or New Years! Good grief!! SORRY MOM!! *SIGH*

I have been trying to make money with odesk and I’ve been doing okay. Nothing to write home about but still it’s SOMETHING! I’ve been busy with CJ too. His new psychiatrist wants to up his therapy before we trying switching his med’s. He’s as high as he can go with Lexapro so she was thinking of changing to Zoloft but we are going to try doing therapy Monday and Thursday’s and see how that goes first. His therapist was going to mention the same thing so we are all on the same page.

I am also trying to get CJ to get all his school work done by Friday. Nick has been over here twice this week and he’ll be here again tonight. He has just a bit of Math left and he’ll be all done. I am pretty sure he has all A’s THANK GOD!! I never mentioned it, but he was in the hospital again in Nov. for almost 2 weeks and he lost almost a month of school time so he’s busting his butt to get done. I have no clue why the school won’t give him more time, they were just going to give him D’s and F’s!!! NO WAY!! So, I have been helping him and Nick helps with Math as I don’t understand Geometry very well.

Well, the other day I went to take Joe to school and my rental had a flat tire! I was NOT happy as all I had was that darn van that runs like crap and has NO heat!! ARG!!! So, dropped Joe off at school, went to SNAP and then went quilting. Then all us ladies went out to lunch and then I got home at 1pm, took the flat off and put the donut on and called Enterprise and they said to take it to Ashtabula and have them fix it.

Got there at 2pm and they said they’d be done at 4pm! YIKES! So, walked 15 minutes in the freezing cold to the library until they were done and walked back 15 minutes in the freezing cold. They said it was a little nail! *SIGH* They changed the oil too since I have put 4,000 miles on it already.

Then Wednesday, Enterprise called and said there is a recall on the car and that I had to take it in first thing this morning to have it fixed. Something about seat belts. So, after I took Joe to school I took the car in to be fixed. This time I was out of there by 8:30am. I went to Walmart and wouldn’t you know it the lady in front of me checked out just fine and as soon as she was done the computers in the entire store went down!!! I had to wait 15 minutes for them to come back up to check out!

I finally got home at 10am today. I had lunch with the girls at 1pm and I have to get Joe here in a bit (5:30) and then I have to come home and make dinner and clean up. Nick will be here at 6:30.

Oh, and last night my washing machine kicked it! It will agitate but it won’t spin. It was smoking and stinking so badly last night that I thought the mudroom was on fire!! Thank god it wasn’t. I was to busy today to call someone but I need to find out if I can have it fixed because a new unit is over $1,400!

Yesterday we got our Network Extender!! YA!!! I went to verizon to check out getting new phones and we got to talking about why our minutes were so low and they looked up our account and they could tell we never used them at home so they gave us this extender for FREE!!! It came yesterday and it’s SO COOL to use the phones anywhere in the house!! WOW!!! No more huddling in the mudroom for a signal. SO AWESOME! I called and canceled my long distance as I was paying $35 a month for unlimited long distance so now that I can use my cell phone I ditched that bill!

A New Year

Well, it’s a new year and I haven’t even posted anything yet. For New Years Eve, we went to a family bowling tournament and had a lot of fun. Then we dropped the boys off at a friends for a party and we went to Chuck’s parents house. We left there at 10:30 and went home. We watched TV till midnight and Chuck went to bed and I went to get the boys. I finally got to bed at 1am.

New Years Day we did nothing but watch movies all day! That is nice sometimes when you don’t have to go anywhere or do anything and you can just relax all day. Today I have to make sure all the laundry is done and the dishes all get done and I work projection at the church tonight. Tomorrow school starts back up and we are back to our regular routine.

I have to make sure CJ gets done with all his school work by the 7th and all we have left is his math so we’ll probably make it just fine. So far he has A’s in all his classes!

Extreme Sheep LED Art

Okay, I was watching this show today called “50 Greatest Viral Videos” and this one was one of them and it’s SO cute!! I will post others later that are funny!

Shopping Sucks!

For the past few years we have waiting until a few days before Christmas to do ALL our shopping. This year it was because we just didn’t have the money to shop any sooner. Chuck and I went last night and the stores were SO crowded and the lines were SO long! We only got a few things as Christmas this year is rather small.

Again this year, we have no tree. There is just NO room for a tree at our place since we bought the piano. Maybe next year I will put the piano in CJ’s room and put up a tree. We haven’t had a tree in about 3 years and it bothers Joe a bit. A virtual tree on TV is just NOT the same.

So, I made a note in my day calendar in the month of October to buy at least 2 or more gifts for everyone and figure out where the tree is going to go. I want to have a tree up and the house all decked out by Dec. 1 and have all the gifts bought wrapped and under the tree!

We made sure to buy the boys each a video game so they at least had something new and fun to do on Christmas day since Christmas is small this year. Clothes just aren’t that exciting, LOL! The games are $60 a piece (nothing like buying 2 of the same game!) so that was their main gift.

On another note, Baby Peter is STILL in the hospital. He’s very sick! In the x-ray they found the problem. His bladder has somehow dipped way down making a pocket where urine can sit and get nasty because he can’t get it out of that dip. He had a nasty huge mucous plug that finally came out and that is what was causing this problem of late. So, he had surgery yesterday to fix that dip in the bladder. I haven’t heard from the vet and I will be calling today to see how he is doing and when he can come home. The vet told me NOT to worry about the bill and to just make regular payments (even if they are small) until I get it paid off.

Just called, he’s doing great and can come home but they close at noon so I have to run right now and get him! They removed part of his bladder but he is urinating fine and purring this morning! YA!!!

Baby Peter

Well, yesterday morning Baby Peter hoped into the laundry basket I had on the table (empty) cried and jumped out. Thought that was weird so I went to check it out. There was a very small (pea size, LOL!) bit a urine on the bottom that was pink. Oh no!!

I immediately called the vet and got him right in (again). This time it was a different doctor and she wanted to keep him overnight and do a full work up on him to see what is wrong. Blood work, x-rays the whole bit.

I go and get him today but I called last night and he was doing well and the blood work showed nothing (good). The est. bill was $315 but she said I could pay that off as I was able too and not to worry about it. That was SO nice. I had JUST paid down the bill I had so at least that wasn’t on top of what I owed already.

The boys were a bit upset that he was sick again, they are always so nervous that we are going to lose one of our pets and in a way I am too. We all love Baby Peter though he can be annoying, LOL!!

Last night Joe won his wrestling match in the heavy weight division. The guy was over 30 pounds heavier than Joe and he won in 17 seconds! LOL!! Joe got home at 11pm and he had to leave at 6:30 this morning for another wrestling tournament. Chuck took him this morning.

Chuck tried to take the big truck but it’s stuck in the driveway so he took my car. I now have to take CJ to bowling, go shopping in Ashtabula, pick up Baby Peter and then get CJ and go home in the work van that has NO HEAT!!! ARG!!!!! I’ll live I guess, I told Chuck no big deal and to take the car. It’s an hour drive to the tournament. Chuck has to put the chains on the truck because it’s rear wheel drive and there is no weight in the back. Our driveway is a sheet of ice under the snow, which doesn’t help.

No School

Joe called from school early yesterday saying that they were closing school early and that there was no wrestling practice so he was going to go home with Dylan. I was glad that I didn’t have to trek out and get him in this weather! Dylan lives just down the road, so that’s nice! Joe ended up there till 7:30 because I wanted to go to bed and they hadn’t canceled school yet. I guess he could have just spent the night as school got canceled at 9pm last night.

Barb texted me around 6pm last night to tell me that they canceled quilting. So I knew the weather must be really bad. We really didn’t get a lot of snow but it’s blowing really hard and it’s about 14 degrees outside. I’m happy to just sit at home in the warmth. I have to leave the faucet on so that the water doesn’t freeze up. We really need to fix our skirting so that we don’t have to worry about it so much all the time. If I forget and the water freezes I’m in real trouble!

Well, since I got home from my mom’s, I have been finding jobs to do from odesk.com. Mostly, I have been writing articles because I know how to do that. I accidentally applied for a job that sucked! I had to write articles for $1 a piece! ARG!! I usually get $4-$5, well, I did the 5 and will refuse any more.

Hey Becky (my sister), you may really like odesk, you can find a jobs in accounting and bookkeeping! You may find some great steady work and maybe even some “off” odesk stuff where you can make more money. With your degree you’d be a perfect VA! (Virtual Assistant) Cha Ching!

They have tests on there and I’ve been taking about 3 a day but I don’t always do so well. I copy each question (by hitting print screen and pasting it into my photo software) so that I can find the answers later. You can re-take the test in 30 days and the higher you score the more often you will get jobs.

I got one job from a woman that didn’t have her credit card verified yet so she just pays me via paypal. Now that is what I like. She pays $5 an article and I get the money right away. Through odesk, you have to wait 2 weeks to get paid. I guess once you are making money it doesn’t matter as you get paid every week, just sucks when you’re just starting out. She gave me another order of 5 500 word articles for $5 each and 10 350 articles for $3.50 each. So, I have plenty to do today!

Last week, I tried take some pictures at the basketball game but they just didn’t come out. My lens just doesn’t let the F-Stop be low enough. The lower the F-Stop number the more open your lens is to let in light. Mine goes to about 4.5 and I need it at 1.5 so that the shutter speed can be faster. Ah, so I checked and lenses like that are about a grand! YIKES! So, not quite sure what I’m going to do. Bridget was supposed to come with me on last night to the game at the middle school but with this weather I said NO WAY! So, when the weather is better she’ll come and we’ll try and see if we can take any. If not I will save up for a better lens made for sports photography.

Plastic Trash Bag Wreath

My friend, Elizabeth, whipped this up last night! I thought this was SO COOL! It’s made of trash bags and a wire coat hanger. I think it looks great!
